Only 6 more days until spring break!! I am so excited. The last few weeks have been full of challenges, but they have also been fun and very rewarding. It has been exhausting trying to job search while also teaching and planning. For some reason though, when I do get some time to job search I find it fun and exciting. I have a good feeling about it. I am still a little nervous that maybe I won't find something, but I just know God will take care of it for me.

Lets see... We have had lots of fun things going on at school. Last Saturday we had Fair Day. It was a day for us to raise money for our grades. 1st grade had a clothespin drop, which we thought was a little boring, but the kids seemed to like it. I think it was just because we were giving out candy, ha.

For the last few weeks , I have been teaching a unit on the human body. The kids really like it and we have been doing lots of fun experiments. One day this week we took turns listening to each others hearts. The kids loved this. They kept calling each other doctors and wanting to listen to my heart, ha.

Since it's reading month, we had a day where everyone came to school dressed as their favorite book character. A few weeks ago we did a literature unit on "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie". So, I decided to be the mouse. It was a crazy day, but very fun! Little kids kept coming up to me and just smiling, ha, I loved it.

I had a really fun and relaxing day today. The school had a spiritual life day for us. They had a great message and then we got time by the pool and trampoline. Ha, it was fun and in a very beautiful place. I was thinking as we were driving home and looking out at the mountains, how easy it is to get caught up the the everyday stress of life and forget how beautiful it is here and that I am living on a Caribbean island.

I hope all is going well. I miss you and all of you are in my prayers!!

"So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ." 2 Cor. 9-10

Our daily goal- "please him"

It's already the middle of March, I can't believe it! I know it has been a really long time since I posted last. I was sick for a few days last week, so I haven't been doing much other than trying to get better and keeping up with school. I am feeling back to normal now though, which is such a relief.

March has always seemed like such a long month to me and I was really not looking forward to it, but so far it has went by really fast. It is reading month, which means lots of fun reading activities for my kids. They are traveling around the world by reading. For every minute they read, they travel miles around the world. They went the farthest yesterday, which means they got Popsicles.

Last week my kids got to bring their stuffed animals to school. They read to them and took them outside to play. We had lots of fun!

The last few days have been so great. I am so encouraged that I am feeling better and I have just been enjoying being around my kids. Keep me in your prayers as I try to figure out exactly what God wants me to do next year. I am sure that whatever it is, He will show me. Spring break is only a few weeks away now. Oh, family, friends and Starbucks. Can't ask for anything more! Love you and miss you all!

"You have made known to me the path of life, you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11

Hey everyone! I had a fun week at school with my kids. We had our spelling bee on Wednesday. My girls did great. They were really nervous, but they did great. Lets see, we read the story, "If You Give a Pig a Pancake", so of course we made pancakes. I think I spent more time cleaning up the syrup than making the pancakes, but it was fun.

This weekend a bunch of us went to Samana, which is on the North side of the island. We went up there so we could go whale watching. It was really amazing. We got to see lots of whales. The best part was seeing a mother with her baby. I couldn't believe how huge and beautiful they were. It was definitely worth the trip.

Here is the first whale we spotted! ha

Here is a real one. They are way better in person.

I have been doing some job searching in the North and South Carolina. It is looking promising, but just keep on praying that God will lead me to the best school and position for me. I want to be in His perfect will. I miss you all so much! Spring break is only a month from Friday!
